Saturday Night Presence JournalNovember 8, 2008Tonight’s teaching was on Restoration. The Prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah spoke clearly about God’s intentions to purify His holy people. The origins of Israel’s divine restoration stemmed from their deliverance from His wrath.
Through Isaiah, God promised to remove the cup of His anger and place it into the hands of their tormentors. Later, He promised that they would leave their place of affliction and travel through unknown paths. But He also promised to go before them and be their rear guard while bringing them to a new identity of peace and contentment.
First, Israel must forsake their past evil ways, change their unrighteous thinking, reach out to God, their Creator, and love one another. Their new beginnings and changed lives would become the key factor for the land to prosper and their flocks to flourish.
At the close of the service, God’s presence was so strong, people began to weep. Some came to the altar, but most chose to stay in place and worship. It seemed as though they did not wish to move from where He had begun connecting with them. Divine intimacy is such a treasure! God is good..
