Saturday Night Presence JournalOctober 4, 2008I woke up Saturday morning with verses from Isaiah on my heart. Isaiah 60:1-5 - The Gentiles Bless Zion
1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. 5 Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
After recalling our senior pastor preaching from this passage, I have come to believe that this is a now word for our church family. We are coming into the glorious light of His presence. And as joint heirs with Christ, God is positioning us to receive these wonderful blessings with Jesus.
During this season of affliction, now is the time for us to reflect upon His promise to come for us in glory. As we pass through this life, Jesus tells us to place our treasures in Heaven where they are safe—not on the Earth where they can be stolen or corrupted.
Now is the time to focus on these heavenly treasures: wisdom, peace, eternal life and greatness in God—to name a few. Remember that it is a wise choice to trust and obey Him in these trying, challenging times. Our light has come - and His name is Jesus.
The presence at the altar was wonderful! Many came forward in response to intercession and healing. In this time of need, our CT family is praying and interceding for many people. Even in the midst of personal affliction and challenges, we are remembering the needs of others.
